For warfare, the horse served as an "intensifier of original plains traits". The practice of making war was traditionally a pedestrian activity, even when the warriors had horses and when the objective was to capture horses. Basically, horses didn't really change much of warfare for the Indians. There are also some things that did change warfare. For example, the way they used their weapons was changed. Another way horses helped the Natives was that they could go much farther on horse than they could on foot. They would also arrive to the battlefield well rested and ready to fight.

Fact #1
With the horse, fighting became easier because they were able to travel to the battlefield faster. They could also get there before their enemies. When they arrive to the battlefield, the Natives would arrive well rested and would be ready to fight the enemy.

Fact #2Weapons are one of the ways that horses changed fighting. If they were on a horse, they could use spears and it would be much more effective, than if they were on foot.
